California Recreation Alliance

Horses love ATV's too!

There is nothing like the outdoors and we are fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth.  The California Recreation Alliance is a 501 (c)3 non-profit founded on the ideals of teaching youth how to enjoy outdoor recreation in a responsible manner.  We are supporters of all forms of outdoor recreation - both passive and active.  The CRA teaches children how to ride off-highway vehicles such as ATV's in a safe manner.  These safety classes, taught by ASI certified instructors are FREE to all children.  We are also partnered with Shoreline Riders, Inc. who generously let us host our Kids Quad Safety Courses at their arena.  We work with SRI to desensitize their horses to the sights and sounds of off-highway vehicles, while teaching our students how to be responsible riders and share the trail.

The CRA is also partnered with Mendocino Coast Parks and Recreation District to help restore the property located at Summers Lane and Highway 20 outside of Fort Bragg.  This property has long been used as an illegal dumping ground and is currently being used without authorization by trespass OHV riders.  The CRA is working with MCRPD to put a stop to this degradation and begin restoring the 586 acre parcel.  The dream is that this land will eventually be home to a large, multi-use recreational facility with soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, hiking, biking and walking trails, equestrian paths, horseshoe pits, an RC car track, an archery area and an OHV area. The dream of the CRA and MCRPD is to one day have a park with something for everyone.

The CRA's newest partner is BLM!  We are very fortunate to have secured use of Samoa Dunes SRA for our training classes.  We are continually looking ahead, for new locations to bring our program!

Starting in 2018, we will be offering Free MSF curriculum based Dirt Bike Training for Kids.  This type of training has been asked for by many people and we are happy to be able to provide the valuable and free service to our community and other communities in Northern California!
